Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Efficiently sort incoming mail and packages by size, weight, and destination to ensure accurate delivery.
- Operate Machinery: Safely operate conveyor belts, canceling machines, and other automated equipment used in mail processing.
- Load and Unload Vehicles: Manually load and unload parcels from delivery trucks and sorting carts, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain Facility Standards: Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with all safety and sanitation regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers and vendors professionally to resolve inquiries and handle mail errors.
- Route Management: Review delivery schedules and maps to plan the most efficient routes for mail carriers.
- Physical Stamina: Perform heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods as required by the job.
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legal Status: Must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Physical Fitness: Must possess the physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 70 lbs) repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Driving Skills: Valid driver's license is preferred but not always required for all positions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliability: A strong history of punctuality and attendance.
