Responsibilities
- Load and unload mail and parcels onto and from trucks, aircraft, and trains using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and conveyors.
- Sort incoming and outgoing mail using automated sorting equipment and manual methods to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with postal safety regulations.
- Perform physical labor including lifting heavy bags and boxes weighing up to 70 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Operate and monitor sorting machinery and communication equipment to track mail status.
- Assist in the preparation of mail for distribution to carriers and delivery vehicles.
- Adhere to strict deadlines and quality control standards during processing operations.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Ability to pass a background check and a drug screen.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push heavy packages and mail bags on a regular basis.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to operate standard office or industrial machinery.
- Valid driver's license is preferred but not always required depending on the specific role.
