Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Sort incoming and outgoing mail by hand or using automated equipment to ensure accurate delivery.
- Load and Unload Trucks: Safely load and unload mail and packages from delivery vehicles and sorting trucks.
- Maintain Facility Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations while operating machinery and walking through the facility.
- Operate Mail Carts: Manually push and pull mail carts weighing up to 50-70 pounds over various terrains within the facility.
- Verify Addresses: Accurately read and verify addresses to prevent misdelivery and ensure efficiency.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers at the service counter and provide assistance when needed.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, carry, and push heavy objects; ability to stand for extended periods.
- Good Vision: Ability to read addresses clearly without corrective lenses (or with them) and pass a vision test.
- Background Check: Must pass a background investigation and drug screening.
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required for carrier positions.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
