Responsibilities
- Review and process veterans' disability compensation claims with 98% accuracy
- Conduct benefit eligibility assessments for VA healthcare and education programs
- Develop comprehensive case files and documentation for complex veteran scenarios
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and legal teams on contested claims
- Provide direct support to veterans during appeals and re-evaluation processes
- Train junior staff on VA regulations and procedural compliance
- Participate in community outreach to connect veterans with available benefits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or related field
- 3+ years' experience in veterans' services or federal benefits administration
- VA Form 21-4142 (Authorization to Disclose Information) certification
- Advanced knowledge of 38 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) Chapter 17
- Proficiency in Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS)
- Security clearance eligibility (required)
- Experience with veterans' disability claims adjudication processes
