Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' disability compensation claims with 99% accuracy
- Conduct comprehensive interviews to gather medical and service-related evidence
- Interpret federal regulations (38 CFR) and apply them to individual cases
- Prepare detailed written decisions explaining benefit determinations
- Collaborate with medical professionals and legal teams on complex cases
- Maintain confidential case files in compliance with federal records management standards
- Provide clear explanations of benefits to veterans and their representatives
- Participate in continuous training to stay current with policy changes
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory
- Minimum of 1 year specialized experience in benefits administration or claims processing
- Proficiency in VA systems (VBMS, VBAS, VBA) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to interpret complex federal regulations and policies
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with veterans or military populations preferred
- Ability to manage competing deadlines with meticulous attention to detail
