Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' compensation, pension, and education benefits claims
- Conduct detailed interviews with claimants to gather supporting documentation
- Analyze medical records and service history to determine eligibility criteria
- Provide clear explanations of VA regulations and benefit entitlements
- Collaborate with medical/legal teams to resolve complex case issues
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with federal timelines
- Represent VA at community outreach events to educate veterans
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in related field or 3+ years claims processing experience
- Proficiency in VA claims systems (VBMS, VBA) and Microsoft Office
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to interpret complex regulations
- Experience working with military/veteran populations preferred
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of 38 CFR regulations
