Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' disability compensation claims with 95% accuracy
- Conduct thorough benefit eligibility assessments for VA healthcare and education programs
- Provide clear guidance on complex VA regulations and documentation requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and legal teams to resolve claim discrepancies
- Maintain detailed case records in VA's electronic benefits management system
- Conduct outreach to underserved veteran populations in Central Valley
- Train veterans and families on VA benefit resources through workshops and one-on-one sessions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years experience with government benefits programs or veteran services
- Proficiency in VA-specific systems (VBMS, VBA-INS) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to interpret and apply complex federal regulations (38 CFR)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation for travel
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background investigation
