Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility security protocols
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to maintain safety standards
- Respond to emergencies and incidents per departmental procedures
- Document incidents and maintain accurate daily logs
- Screen visitors and packages according to security guidelines
- Participate in inmate rehabilitation programs and educational initiatives
- Collaborate with healthcare and mental health staff as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Colorado driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and physical fitness assessment
- Certified in CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or corrections preferred
