Responsibilities
- Develop and conduct interactive educational programs for weekend visitors of all ages
- Lead guided tours and gallery talks highlighting Smithsonian collections
- Respond to visitor inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
- Assist with special weekend events and family-friendly activities
- Collaborate with curatorial and conservation teams on educational content
- Maintain accurate records of program attendance and visitor feedback
- Support museum accessibility initiatives for diverse audiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Museum Studies, History, or related field
- Minimum 1 year experience in informal education or public programming
- Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills
- Ability to work flexible weekends and occasional evenings
- Knowledge of Smithsonian collections or cultural institutions preferred
- Basic proficiency with educational technology and digital platforms
- Valid U.S. government security clearance eligibility required
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
