Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police, fire, or medical units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation per Ohio Revised Code standards
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents and disaster scenarios
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival medical instructions to callers
- Monitor radio communications and maintain situational awareness for weekend operations
- Update and maintain confidential databases with real-time incident information
- Participate in mandatory weekend shift training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with minimum 2 years customer service experience
- Valid Ohio Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to pass NIMS 100/200/700 certifications and background clearance
- Proficiency in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and multi-line phone systems
- Exceptional de-escalation skills and ability to remain calm under duress
- Available to work rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy for data entry
