We seek a Weekend Public Safety Officer to ensure safety and security at public facilities while delivering exceptional service to residents and visitors. This role is critical to maintaining Miami's reputation as a safe and welcoming destination.
As a Weekend Public Safety Officer, you will work flexible weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) patrolling parks, community centers, and municipal buildings. You'll be the face of city safety, responding to incidents, conducting routine inspections, and providing assistance to the public. This position offers a unique opportunity to serve Miami while enjoying a balanced weekend schedule.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned city facilities during weekend shifts to ensure public safety and security
- Respond to emergency calls and incidents in accordance with department protocols
- Conduct routine facility inspections and report maintenance needs
- Assist visitors with directions, information, and emergency situations
- Complete detailed incident reports and documentation
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed
- Monitor CCTV systems and access control points
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Florida Security Officer D License (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Minimum 1 year security/public safety experience
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work flexible weekend schedule (6am-10pm)
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean record
- Pass background check and drug screening
