Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Support: Perform critical system updates, patch management, and troubleshooting for government servers and workstations during weekend shifts to minimize disruption to weekday operations.
- Network Security: Monitor network traffic and security alerts, responding immediately to potential threats to protect sensitive state data.
- Technical Assistance: Provide advanced technical support and remote assistance to government staff, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Incident Management: Lead the response and resolution of IT incidents and service tickets escalated during non-standard business hours.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all maintenance activities, system changes, and incident reports.
- Backup & Recovery: Execute scheduled backups and verify data integrity to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or network engineering within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, SQL databases, and network protocols (TCP/IP).
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a state security clearance.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday).
