Responsibilities
- Perform routine system administration tasks, including server monitoring, patch management, and backups, specifically during weekend shifts.
- Respond to and resolve critical IT incidents and helpdesk tickets that arise outside of standard business hours.
- Manage and maintain virtualized environments (Hyper-V, VMware) to ensure high availability and performance.
- Implement and enforce security protocols to protect sensitive government data and networks.
- Conduct hardware inspections and troubleshooting for office equipment and peripherals.
- Document all system changes, incidents, and maintenance procedures accurately.
- Collaborate with the on-call team to ensure seamless handovers and continuous service delivery.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems administration or IT support, with a strong preference for weekend availability.
- Proven experience with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and DNS/DHCP.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be available to work every Saturday and Sunday (or rotating weekends) as required by departmental needs.
