As a Public Works Laborer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving our community's roads, utilities, and public spaces. We value safety, reliability, and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, grading, and asphalt laying.
- Assist in traffic control operations, including flagging and setting up cones/barriers.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate basic construction machinery and hand tools under the supervision of skilled operators.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring debris is cleared and tools are stored properly.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards and company protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with crew leads and other team members to ensure project efficiency.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class C) with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous manual labor in various weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.).
- Previous experience in construction, public works, or general labor is a plus but not required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety Certification.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
