Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks related to street maintenance, including pothole repair, crack sealing, and asphalt paving.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and equipment such as jackhammers, rollers, and dump trucks under supervision.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety.
- Perform landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, and planting in public parks and rights-of-way.
- Collect and dispose of solid waste and recyclables in compliance with city regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work site, adhering to all OSHA safety standards.
- Transport materials and supplies to and from job sites efficiently.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Kansas Driver’s License is mandatory.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction or maintenance equipment is a plus but not required.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and following instructions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Must pass a post-offer pre-employment physical exam and drug screen.
