Responsibilities
- Conduct surveillance and patrols to detect illegal border crossings and smuggling activities
- Apprehend individuals attempting unlawful entry into the United States
- Operate specialized equipment including night vision, sensors, and surveillance technology
- Collect and process evidence related to border violations and criminal activity
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate documentation of all activities
- Respond to emergency situations and provide humanitarian assistance when required
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Ability to pass rigorous background investigation and polygraph examination
- Fluency in English (Spanish proficiency highly desirable)
- Physical fitness to perform duties in challenging environments
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Pass medical examination and drug screening
- Successfully complete Border Patrol Academy training
