Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned border areas to detect and prevent illegal entry of persons and contraband
- Conduct surveillance operations using advanced detection technology and physical observation
- Apprehend violators and process detainees according to federal regulations
- Collect and share intelligence on smuggling activities and security threats
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
- Maintain detailed records of patrol activities and incident reports
- Provide emergency response support during natural disasters or security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Age 21-40 (exceptions for veterans)
- Pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Physical fitness test (push-ups, sit-ups, run, swim)
- Spanish language proficiency (written and oral)
- Ability to work rotating shifts and in extreme weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- No felony convictions and clean drug-free history
