Responsibilities
- Monitor and secure designated border areas using advanced surveillance technology and patrol vehicles
- Conduct traffic inspections and apprehend individuals attempting illegal entry
- Collect and process evidence while maintaining strict chain-of-custody protocols
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate case documentation
- Respond to emergency situations including migrant rescues and medical incidents
- Utilize biometric identification systems for suspect processing
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Friday-Sunday)
- Pass rigorous background check and polygraph examination
- Physical fitness assessment completion (including agility and endurance tests)
- Spanish language proficiency (written and verbal)
- Minimum 2 years of law enforcement or military experience
- Ability to operate specialized equipment (thermal imaging, GPS tracking)
- Successful completion of 16-week Border Patrol Academy training
