Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A CDL) in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and security of cargo and the vehicle.
- Load and unload freight securely using proper equipment, ensuring cargo integrity during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including electronic logging devices (ELD) and mileage records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Adhere to company procedures regarding hazardous materials (if applicable) and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of Texas.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) and valid DOT medical card.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform minor vehicle troubleshooting.
