Responsibilities
- Deliver and collect mail along a prescribed route in a safe, timely, and accurate manner using an electric vehicle or walking.
- Sort and distribute mail efficiently using handheld scanning devices and automated equipment.
- Collect payments for Express Mail, Certified Mail, and Registered Mail when required.
- Ensure the security of the mail and the safety of the public while on the route.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance while adhering to USPS uniform and grooming standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support postal operations.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or national, or have permanent resident status.
- Valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (heat, rain, snow) and on uneven terrain.
- Pass a background check and a drug screening.
- Good manual dexterity and the ability to operate scanning equipment and handheld radios.
