Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the official records, resolutions, ordinances, and minutes of the City Council and all standing boards and commissions.
- Prepare, distribute, and archive meeting agendas and official minutes with precision and timeliness.
- Oversee the administration of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate the logistics for city council meetings, including room scheduling, technical support, and communication with elected officials.
- Implement and maintain efficient filing systems and databases to ensure the security and retrievability of city documents.
- Act as the primary liaison for the public regarding information requests and general administrative inquiries.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business Management, or Paralegal Studies preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in office administration, records management, or a related municipal government role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and records management software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft clear and professional correspondence.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive public information.
- Knowledge of Texas public records laws and FOIA procedures is highly desirable.
