Responsibilities
- Oversee municipal records management, including document archiving, retention policies, and public record requests
- Manage city elections, voter registration, and ensure compliance with election laws
- Prepare and certify official city documents, ordinances, and resolutions
- Administer oaths of office and serve as notary public for official proceedings
- Coordinate public meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking
- Manage the city's legislative tracking system and ensure transparency in government actions
- Supervise records management staff and implement departmental improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Expertise in Tennessee open records laws and municipal governance
- Proficiency in records management systems and document automation tools
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and legal precision
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Tennessee Notary Public certification preferred
- Experience managing election processes highly desirable
