Responsibilities
- Oversee all official city records including ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Provide legislative support to the City Council and city departments
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with public records laws
- Coordinate city clerk functions with other government agencies
- Prepare and maintain official city documents and archives
- Serve as filing officer for local initiatives and referendums
- Advise city officials on legislative procedures and compliance matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or public records management
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Proficiency with records management systems and document automation
- Deep knowledge of California Election Code and Public Records Act
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
