As the City Clerk, you will be the face of the City Hall for many residents, providing exceptional customer service and managing complex information with precision.
Responsibilities
- Record Management: Serve as the official custodian of all city records, ensuring proper filing, archiving, and retrieval of documents in compliance with state and local laws.
- Election Coordination: Oversee the administration of municipal elections, including voter registration, poll worker management, and election night operations.
- Meeting Administration: Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and supporting materials for City Council and committee meetings.
- Permitting & Licensing: Process a variety of permits, licenses, and applications accurately and within established timeframes.
- Customer Service: Provide professional, accurate, and timely assistance to the public, businesses, and city staff regarding municipal services.
- Public Information: Maintain the city's official website and publications, ensuring accurate dissemination of information to the community.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in administrative support, government operations, or records management.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with document management systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
