Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, and council meeting minutes with flawless accuracy
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration in compliance with state/federal regulations
- Administer public records requests while balancing transparency with legal confidentiality
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure legislative compliance and document retention
- Lead public-facing services including marriage licenses, business permits, and notary services
- Develop and implement records management systems for digital and physical archives
- Act as primary liaison between city council, mayor's office, and community stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or public sector experience
- Advanced knowledge of Missouri Sunshine Law and records retention protocols
- Expertise in municipal code enforcement and legislative procedures
- Proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Strong project management skills with ability to oversee complex initiatives
- Excellent written/verbal communication and public presentation abilities
- Valid Missouri Notary Public commission or ability to obtain within 6 months
