Responsibilities
- Oversee all municipal records management, including document retention, archiving, and public records requests
- Administer city elections, voter registration, and political subdivisions per Arizona state statutes
- Prepare and certify official council minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and legislative actions
- Manage public meeting logistics, including agenda preparation, notice compliance, and minute distribution
- Serve as custodian of the city seal and maintain official municipal documents
- Coordinate with legal counsel on legislative compliance and code updates
- Provide administrative support to the Mayor and City Council
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or public sector experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expertise in Arizona open meeting laws (A.R.S. Title 38) and public records statutes
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems and municipal software
- Exceptional written communication skills for drafting legal documents
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Valid Arizona driver's license
