Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all official city records, ordinances, and legislative documents
- Oversee city elections, voter registration, and ballot initiatives
- Provide administrative support to the Oakland City Council and Mayor's office
- Ensure compliance with California Public Records Act and municipal regulations
- Suppose public records requests and document management systems
- Coordinate city clerk functions with other departments and external agencies
- Prepare and publish official city council agendas, minutes, and resolutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government experience with records management
- California Municipal Clerk credential or equivalent certification
- Expertise in election administration and voter compliance
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems and record retention
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Knowledge of California Brown Act and open meeting laws
