Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Administer oaths of office for public officials and notarize official documents
- Manage public record requests, ensuring timely and compliant responses
- Coordinate with City Council on agenda preparation, legislative tracking, and compliance
- Oversee municipal elections processes and voter registration records
- Develop and implement records retention policies aligned with state and federal regulations
- Serve as the primary liaison between citizens and city government records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal records management or government administration
- Expertise in Louisiana public records laws and open records regulations
- Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Valid Louisiana Notary Public commission or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with municipal election procedures preferred
