You'll serve as the official record-keeper for legislative actions, manage public records requests, oversee election administration, and provide critical support to the City Council. Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Administer oaths of office and serve as the filing officer for official documents
- Oversee municipal elections, including ballot preparation and voter education
- Process and respond to California Public Records Act requests
- Coordinate with City Council on agenda preparation and legislative tracking
- Manage the city's legislative information system and document retention policies
- Provide administrative support to City Council meetings and public hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- California Municipal Clerk certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months
- Expertise in California Public Records Act and Brown Act compliance
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage complex projects and deadlines
