Responsibilities
- Oversee official city records management, including birth/death certificates, marriage licenses, and municipal archives
- Administer all local elections, including voter registration, ballot preparation, and poll worker coordination
- Manage issuance of municipal permits, licenses, and official city documents
- Ensure compliance with New York State election laws and NYC administrative codes
- Lead public-facing services for city hall visitors and document requests
- Coordinate with City Council, borough offices, and community boards on legislative processes
- Implement digital transformation initiatives for records management systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in municipal government or records management
- New York State Notary Public certification
- Expertise in NYC municipal codes and election procedures
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Exceptional communication skills for public interactions and stakeholder management
- Proven ability to manage high-volume public services under pressure
- Knowledge of FOIL and public records access regulations
