Responsibilities
- Maintain official city records, ordinances, and resolutions with meticulous accuracy
- Prepare and distribute agendas, packets, and certified minutes for City Council meetings
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with Texas Public Information Act
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration programs
- Manage document retention systems and archival processes
- Serve as the official custodian of city seals and records
- Coordinate with legal department on compliance matters
- Train staff on records management protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Proficiency with records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Thorough knowledge of Texas local government codes and election procedures
- Exceptional written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Experience with digital transformation of records systems
