Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all official city records, ordinances, minutes, and public documents with meticulous attention to detail
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and election compliance procedures
- Coordinate public records requests ensuring timely, accurate responses per North Carolina public records laws
- Administer city boards and commissions appointments, scheduling, and documentation
- Serve as the official custodian of the city seal and attestation of official documents
- Develop and implement records retention policies compliant with state and federal regulations
- Lead public-facing initiatives to enhance civic engagement and transparency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or public records management experience
- Proficiency with records management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Deep knowledge of North Carolina public records laws and election procedures
- Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage complex document workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public interactions and reporting
- Ability to obtain Notary Public commission within 90 days of hire
