Responsibilities
- Record, certify, and maintain all official city council minutes, ordinances, and resolutions
- Manage election administration, voter registration, and polling place coordination
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with Texas Public Information Act
- Administer oaths of office and notary public services for city officials
- Develop and implement records retention policies and digital archiving systems
- Coordinate with legal department on legislative compliance and document authentication
- Lead city clerk department staff and budget management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or records management
- Deep knowledge of Texas Election Code, Public Information Act, and Open Meetings Act
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation strongly preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing elections and voter registration systems
