Responsibilities
- Administer all official municipal records, documents, and legislative actions
- Oversee conduct of city elections, voter registration, and ballot initiatives
- Prepare and distribute council meeting agendas, minutes, and public records
- Ensure compliance with California Public Records Act and Brown Act requirements
- Manage city's official seal, contracts, and municipal code updates
- Provide administrative support to City Council and advisory commissions
- Train staff on records management and public information protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- 5+ years experience in records management or municipal government
- California Election Official certification preferred
- Expertise in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Deep knowledge of California election laws and open meeting laws
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strict deadlines
