The City of El Paso is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive individual to join our team as a City Clerk. This is a unique opportunity to serve the public directly, ensuring the integrity of our municipal records and the smooth operation of city government. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, record, and maintain accurate minutes of all City Council and Commission meetings.
- Manage the maintenance, filing, and archiving of official city records, ordinances, and resolutions.
- Receive and distribute incoming correspondence, reports, and legal documents to appropriate departments.
- Assist the Mayor, City Manager, and department heads with administrative duties and special projects.
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of official city publications, notices, and announcements.
- Ensure compliance with state statutes and local ordinances regarding public records and open meetings.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; an Associate’s degree in Public Administration or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in administrative support, clerical work, or municipal government.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and record management software.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with the public and city officials.
