Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes with meticulous attention to detail
- Coordinate and schedule public meetings, including City Council sessions and public hearings
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration processes in compliance with Indiana law
- Process public records requests and ensure transparency in government operations
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official city documentation
- Advise city officials on legislative procedures and record-keeping protocols
- Liaise with state agencies to maintain compliance with municipal regulations
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in municipal government or records management
- Proficiency with document management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Deep understanding of Indiana open records laws and municipal procedures
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage complex documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public-facing interactions
- Valid Indiana driver's license and ability to work flexible hours including evenings
