Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming correspondence, inquiries, and requests for public records in strict compliance with the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA).
  • Assist in the preparation, distribution, and archiving of meeting agendas, packets, and official minutes for City Council and commission meetings.
  • Process and maintain official city documents, including ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and licenses.
  • Support election activities, including voter registration, ballot distribution, and post-election canvassing procedures.
  • Oversee the issuance of permits, business registrations, and other administrative documents to the public.
  • Provide high-level customer service at the front counter and via phone/email, acting as the primary point of contact for citizens.
  • Utilize database management systems to ensure accurate data entry, record retention, and inventory control.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in an office environment, public administration, or customer service role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with government case management software (e.g., ESAB, Accela) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Colorado public records laws and municipal government structure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record check.
