Responsibilities
- Record Management: Process and maintain accurate records for vital statistics, including birth, death, and marriage certificates.
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary liaison for citizens, answering inquiries and directing visitors to appropriate departments.
- Administrative Support: Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes for city council sessions, and distribute official documents.
- Permit Processing: Assist the public with zoning applications, building permits, and other municipal requests.
- Data Entry: Ensure all digital and physical records are up-to-date and organized for easy retrieval.
- Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding public records and privacy.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in business administration or public administration is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in an office environment, customer service, or government administration is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic knowledge of database management systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Reliability: Ability to work a standard full-time schedule with occasional evening meetings.
