Responsibilities
- Manage and archive official municipal documents, including ordinances, resolutions, and council minutes with strict adherence to retention schedules.
- Serve as the Clerk to the City Council, preparing agendas, maintaining meeting minutes, and ensuring accurate procedural documentation.
- Process and respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and public inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Oversee the maintenance of the City’s official seal, signatures, and notary public services.
- Coordinate election-related activities, including candidate filings and polling site logistics.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive city records and data.
- Collaborate with department heads to improve record-keeping systems and office workflows.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in administrative support, records management, or municipal government.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and document management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public and city officials.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to multi-task and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Missouri Revised Statutes regarding public records and open meetings is highly desirable.
