Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize official city records, including minutes, ordinances, and resolutions, ensuring they are accurate and easily retrievable.
- Process and respond to public records requests in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Greet visitors, answer phones, and direct inquiries to the appropriate department or personnel.
- Prepare meeting agendas, packets, and minutes for city council and commission meetings.
- Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy, updating databases and filing systems.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and correspondence for the City Clerk’s Office.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Public Records Management is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably in a government or legal setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Records Management software.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
