Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, including minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and contracts.
- Process and file documents accurately and efficiently using digital and physical systems.
- Assist the public with inquiries regarding city services, permits, and ordinances.
- Prepare agendas, packets, and correspondence for city council and commission meetings.
- Operate office equipment, including scanners, printers, and fax machines.
- Perform general clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and answering phones in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Previous clerical or administrative experience in a government or public sector setting is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong typing skills (40+ WPM) and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision.
