Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, permits, and licensing documentation with meticulous attention to detail
- Process voter registrations, election materials, and public information requests in compliance with state regulations
- Provide frontline customer service to citizens via phone, email, and in-person interactions
- Maintain digital and physical filing systems with secure data management protocols
- Coordinate with multiple city departments to ensure regulatory compliance and documentation accuracy
- Prepare official reports and correspondence for city council meetings and public hearings
- Assist in implementing new municipal record-keeping technologies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in public administration preferred
- Minimum 2 years of administrative/clerical experience with government exposure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
- Strong knowledge of Michigan election laws and municipal regulations
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to obtain Notary Public certification within 90 days of hire
- Pass background check and drug screening per city policy
