Responsibilities
- Process and maintain official city records, permits, and documentation with meticulous attention to detail
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents via phone, email, and in-person inquiries
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure accurate information flow and compliance with regulations
- Prepare and distribute reports, agendas, and meeting minutes for public hearings and council sessions
- Manage departmental filing systems, both physical and digital, ensuring efficient document retrieval
- Assist with public records requests following Minnesota Government Data Practices Act
- Support election administration and voter registration processes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of administrative/clerical experience in government or public sector
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex procedures clearly
- Knowledge of Minnesota public records laws and municipal operations
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Commitment to equity and cultural competency in public service
- Valid Minnesota driver's license may be required for departmental travel
