Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate public records, permits, and official documentation with meticulous attention to detail
- Process citizen inquiries, applications, and payments efficiently while maintaining compliance with municipal regulations
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure seamless information flow and documentation
- Prepare reports, agendas, and minutes for public meetings and official proceedings
- Manage filing systems (physical and digital) to ensure organized record-keeping and retrieval
- Assist in election administration and voter registration processes as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service to citizens, elected officials, and internal stakeholders
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Public Administration or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of administrative/clerical experience in government or regulated environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and record-keeping software
- Strong knowledge of Columbus municipal codes and government procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
- Clear communication skills (written and verbal) for interacting with diverse stakeholders
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass required background checks
