Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, documents, and filing systems with meticulous accuracy
- Provide exceptional customer service to citizens via phone, email, and in-person inquiries
- Process permits, licenses, and municipal applications according to established protocols
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and official correspondence for city council meetings
- Assist in coordinating public hearings and community outreach initiatives
- Utilize municipal software systems for data entry and record management
- Ensure compliance with state and local government regulations and record retention policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years administrative/clerical experience in government or public sector
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and record management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse populations
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Valid Indiana driver's license and ability to travel to city facilities
