Responsibilities
- Receive and direct visitors, customers, and vendors to appropriate city departments and personnel.
- Perform accurate data entry, record keeping, and filing of official city documents and correspondence.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to general inquiries via email and in person with professionalism.
- Assist in the preparation, distribution, and maintenance of meeting agendas, minutes, and reports.
- Process applications, permits, and forms efficiently while adhering to city policies and procedures.
- Maintain office supplies inventory and coordinate with vendors for necessary equipment repairs or restocking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth office operations and effective communication.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; an Associate’s degree or previous clerical experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer navigation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact positively with the public.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
