Responsibilities
- Greet and Assist: Receive and direct visitors, answering inquiries and providing accurate information regarding city departments and services.
- Data Entry: Perform high-speed data entry and maintain accurate records, filing, and databases for various city departments.
- Communication: Answer incoming phone calls, take detailed messages, and respond to routine inquiries in a polite and professional manner.
- Administrative Support: Prepare reports, memos, and correspondence for department heads; assist in the preparation of meeting packets and agendas.
- Office Operations: Operate standard office equipment, including computers, scanners, printers, and fax machines, to support daily operations.
- Customer Service: Maintain a welcoming front office area, ensuring a high level of service for all citizens and stakeholders.
- Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information and confidential documents with strict adherence to privacy protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors in data entry or documents.
- Reliability: Ability to work a standard full-time schedule (40 hours per week) and maintain a consistent attendance record.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screen as part of the hiring process.
