Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and process a high volume of applications, permits, and public records in accordance with city policies and state regulations.
- Greet visitors and answer inquiries via phone and in person, directing them to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain up-to-date digital and physical filing systems.
- Assist with the preparation of meeting packets, agendas, and official correspondence.
- Operate standard office equipment including scanners, fax machines, and computer systems.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; additional coursework in Business Administration or Public Records is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an office setting, government administration, or customer service is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and capable of learning new government software quickly.
- Strong typing skills with a minimum speed of 35 WPM.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on professionalism and courtesy.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive government information.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to work flexible hours when necessary.
