Responsibilities
- Maintain security and order in state correctional facilities during night shifts
- Conduct regular inmate counts and perimeter checks
- Respond to emergencies and incidents per protocol
- Supplement inmate activities and movement during off-hours
- Document incidents and maintain detailed logs
- Collaborate with day-shift teams for seamless operations
- Enforce facility rules and state regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid New York State driver's license
- Ability to pass background investigation and polygraph
- Physical fitness to pass academy requirements
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (11 PM - 7 AM)
- Basic computer literacy for report writing
- No felony convictions
- US citizenship or permanent resident status
