Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities to maintain security and prevent disturbances
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of correctional facilities
- Enforce institutional rules and regulations with firm professionalism
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during emergency situations
- Assist in inmate transportation and court appearances as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Kentucky driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
- Physical fitness to handle security duties (including climbing stairs and restraining)
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions
- Basic computer literacy for report writing
